QuickSilver is the first application that people recommended for my new Mac, and I can see why. It's amazingly useful (especially since I love navigating with my keyboard). This is a good tutorial that walks you through installation and some of the commonly used features.

Thumbs up because the idea is interesting, but requiring a 360 wired controler isn't going to be winning you any praises. Add in support for other controlers and then I'll give it a try.
